with any synchronized camera. It may
be fitted into the accessory shoe on the
camera body, or it can be mounted
by means of a bracket. A tripod bush
is also provided to permit the gun to
be set up on a tripod away from the
camera and connected by a flash
cable of appropriate length. The flash
cable is available with various plug
fittings to suit the camera in use.
The lamp holder is designed to take
hulhs with Edison screw caps as well
as with small bayonet caps-TECHNICAL The unit consists of a
DESCRIPTION battery case (1) with a
cable socket (2) at the side.
a foot with tripod bush (3), a removable Edison screw
fitting (4) which will talce a small centre contact bayonet
sodtet (5) with ejector (6), a reflector bradtet (7), and a re
movable fan reflector (8). A flash cable and test lamp are
also included.
The battery case contains a capacitor unit (9) to take a
commercial type 22.5 volt anode battery (as used in hearing
aids).
he capacitor unit guarantees positive firing without delay.
Even after long use, its operation is independent of the
condition of the battery. lt will fire the bulb reliably as long
as the battery still yields a current. The capacitor charges
up as soon as a flash bulb (or the 6 volt, 0.05 amp. test
lamp) is inserted. Thus, to avoid an unnecessary drain on
the battery a bulb should not be left in the gun when not
in use.
A special model of the gun, recognizable by the letter P"
engraved on it, permits several bulbs to be synchronized
and fired in parallel. A suitable long flash cable and a
multiway adaptor for the battery plug of the cable are
available.
